Harrison Hot Springs Council

Experience Matters
For 18 years, I worked with the Vancouver Park Board, including my final years as a Superintendent. Working in a large municipal organization taught me that good decisions do not end when a motion is passed. Plans must be practical. Budgets must be understood. Projects must be delivered. And accountability means making sure the work actually gets done. During my time with the Park Board, I worked in municipal operations where cooperation, planning and problem solving were part of everyday life. I saw firsthand how elected decisions, staff expertise and operational teams all have to work together to serve the public. Since moving to Harrison in 2021, I have taken that same approach to understanding our Village. I have attended Council meetings, read agendas, bylaws, financial reports and infrastructure plans, and asked questions because I believe informed decisions lead to better outcomes. Today, as a local business owner, I also understand the challenges of operating a small business, meeting payroll, serving customers and making careful financial decisions.
I am not running because I believe I have all the answers. I am running because I believe my municipal experience, leadership experience and business experience can bring a practical voice to Harrison Council.
Why this experience matters
Municipal experience
18 years working within one of Canada's largest municipal organizations.
Leadership
Finished my career with the Park Board serving as a Superintendent.
Business owner
Understand the realities facing local businesses and the importance of responsible financial decisions.
Prepared to do the work
Years spent studying Harrison's reports, budgets, bylaws and infrastructure plans before asking residents for their vote.
Harrison is a special place. Protecting it requires careful planning, honest public discussion and decisions that residents can understand.
I will bring an independent voice to the council table. I will ask direct questions, examine the facts and keep residents informed about the choices facing our village.

Protecting what makes Harrison special
The Miami River, East Sector and Harrison's tree canopy are important community assets. We need practical measures to protect habitat, retain healthy trees, reduce wildfire and flood risks, and ensure future development respects Harrison's natural character.
Infrastructure we can rely on
Growth, spending and new projects must be based on honest information about water, sewer, storm drainage and the full long term cost to taxpayers.
Wildfire and flood readiness
Harrison needs practical plans that protect people and property. That means protecting the route we rely on now, strengthening wildfire defences, improving drainage and reporting progress to residents.
Open, Transparent Local Government
Major decisions should be explained in plain language. Residents should be able to see what is being considered, before decisions are made, what it costs and why council chose it.
Responsible growth
New development should respect infrastructure limits, evacuation needs, neighbourhoods and the natural character that makes Harrison worth protecting.
Why I am running
Transparency is a must.
Residents deserve to know what Council is doing and why. Let’s open the doors to greater clarity.
When something must be discussed behind closed doors, confidentiality must be respected. But Council should still be as open with the public as the law allows.
Public input should matter. Plans should be made public before decisions are made, giving residents a real opportunity to understand what is being proposed and have their say.
When taxpayers pay for reports and plans, Council needs to act on them. We cannot keep producing reports, putting them on a shelf and calling that progress.
We also cannot keep following the same path and expect a different future.
Harrison needs to support local businesses, encourage more year round activity and give people more reasons to visit throughout the year. Our future as a resort community depends on it.
I will not promise to have all the answers. What I will promise is that I will do the work, listen to residents, ask the questions and make decisions based on the best information available.
This is why I am asking for your support to become your next councillor.
My Commitment to Harrison
18 years of municipal experience. Local business owner. A practical voice for Harrison.
